Today is launch day for my new book – Never Search Alone: The Job Seeker’s Playbook!
Yay! Yippee ki-yay! Join the party on LinkedIn Live at 1pm ET, if you can make it.
This month also happens to the 10-year anniversary of my mother’s death (“Chic” to her friends and family).
I can’t think of a more fitting way to mourn this sad moment than by publishing this book and dedicating it to Chic.
After all, she started the first council back in 1960 (for elementary school teachers), and when I was growing up she taught me the power of asking for help (pounded it into me, especially when I was younger and didn’t want to listen!).
Mom, I’ve dedicated this book – and my life – to you and to continuing your mission. I miss you and love you.
I also must thank Marty Cagan, who has been a friend for many years, and wrote a wonderful Foreword.
Marty encouraged me each and every step along the way.
He, along with *thousands* of you, made sure I never wrote alone.
To that last point, I want to thank most readers of this newsletter.

In 2016, I began the process of conducting 1:1 interviews with 250+ of you – Randy Garutti, the CEO of Shake Shack, Karen Goracke, the CEO of one of Warren Buffett’s companies, Ken Chenault, then Chairman and CEO of American Express (now a VC and Board member), Paula Kerger, the longtime President and CEO of PBS, Mara Castro, the first employee at Warby Parker (and now EVP at Evolve), Michelle Peluso, the Chief Customer Officer of CVS Health and Co-President of CVS Pharmacy, David Rabkin, EVP at Capital One, Kerry Cooper, F50 Board Member, many, many other CG members and alums, and college students like Maslyn P. Then, as I started writing six years ago, more than 250 of you read early drafts of the book, used it for your own promotions and/or job searches, and gave me more than 2,500 comments that drove *400* major and minor drafts.
